# RateBench — Payer contract renegotiation

> For one payer, each code on your fee schedule next to what your other payers and Medicare pay, with your own volume and the asks you set, what each is worth a year, and a PDF to take to the payer. Group plan. No market data.

## What it is

The case for a better rate with one payer, built from figures the practice can stand
behind: the rate the payer publishes for the practice's NPI, what the practice's other
payers publish for the same code, Medicare's rate for the practice's area, and the
practice's own claim volume. Part of the Group plan ($499/month).

## How it works

1. Pick a payer on one of your fee schedules. Its rates, your other payers' rates for the same codes and Medicare's rate for your locality are already there.
2. Your claims per code come from the allowed-amount totals you upload for the underpayment check (no patient data), scaled to a year.
3. Type the rate you want for the codes that matter. The page shows what each ask adds a year at your volume, and the total. There is no suggested ask.
4. Download the PDF: the table, the totals, talking points written from the numbers, and the source of each figure. Enter the renewal date and notice period to get an email six months before renewal and two weeks before the notice deadline.

## Honest limits

It does not compare the practice with other practices or the market: published rate
files list rates for providers who never bill a code, so a benchmark built from them can
mislead. Where a payer publishes several rates for a code, the range is shown and the
difference uses the highest. The packet builds the case; the practice makes it.
