# RateBench — Rate monitoring

> Payers republish their rate files monthly. RateBench re-reads every payer on your fee schedule on the 1st of each month and emails you which rates moved — code, payer, was, now and the change — and keeps every rate’s history.

## What it is

A monthly record of what each payer published for you, and an alert when a rate
moves. Rates can change outside renewal (an amendment, an annual update, a contract
that follows another schedule such as a percentage of Medicare), often without a
notice anyone sees.

## How it works

1. Your fee schedule is the baseline: every rate is stored with the month of the
   file it came from.
2. On the 1st of each month, every payer on every one of your fee schedules is
re-read automatically and each rate compared with the last one. Refreshing a
   schedule re-reads it straight away.
3. If a rate moved, everyone on your team with rate-update emails on gets the list:
code, payer, was, now and the signed change. No change, no email.
4. The Monitoring view lists every rate that moved, newest first, with how many
went down, up or stayed the same. On the fee schedule the new rate shows with
its change beside it, and each rate keeps its history — so at renewal you can
see whether "rates unchanged" is true, and for how long.

## Honest limits

This watches published rates, not claims (for claims, use the underpayment check).
A brand-new fee schedule has nothing to compare against until its first re-read.
When a payer publishes several office rates for a code and its file doesn't say
which applies, changes to that code aren't tracked yet.

On every paid plan. Practice: $99/month, with the fee schedule and
underpayment checks; cancel anytime. Sign up: https://app.ratebench.health/sign-up
